Check if you are registered to vote in West Virginia on the Secretary of State website.

Who is eligible to register to vote

  • You must be a citizen of the United States.
  • You must be at least 17 years of age and will be 18 on or before the next general election.
  • You must have a legal residence address in Mercer County.
  • You must not be under conviction, probation or parole for election bribery, treason or any felony.
  • You must not be judged incompetent by a court of competent jurisdiction.

How to register

  • Apply in person at the DMV office or County Clerk's Office.
  • Apply by mail by filling out a WV voter registration application, and mail it to the Mercer County Clerk's Office at 1501 Main Street, Suite 121 Princeton, WV 24740.

When to update your voter registration

  • If your address changes, you get married / divorced,  or you want to change your political party you will need to update your registration.


How to update your voter registration

  • Fill out a new application by mail / or come by the Mercer County Voter Registration Office.
